Lesson fees

45-minute lesson

Lesson fee £21

I normally recommend lessons of 45 minutes for children aged 7 or 8.

One-hour lesson

Lesson fee £28

Children of 9 and over can easily cope with lessons of one hour.

When do lessons take place?

The normal start times for lessons are most weekdays at 4:00pm and 5:15pm. These times can be flexed a little, as long as I can get two sessions completed during the period 3:30 to 6:30.

A child has the same lesson time every week and slots are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please phone or email to check availability, if you are thinking of starting lessons. I am happy to accept provisional bookings, without obligation, for tuition to start at a later date.

Minimum contract term

There is no minimum contract period or up-front payment. You pay for each lesson as it happens, either in cash or by bank transfer.

I do not charge for missed lessons, whether it be through illness, travel problems or other commitments.

All I ask is for equivalent courtesy in return: please let me know as soon as you possibly can if you have to cancel a lesson, or if you intend to finish lessons entirely.

Learning materials

If I supply published work books and test packs, these are chargeable in addition. Most books cost in the range £7-10 and last for many weeks. Wirobooks for recording homework and passing messages cost a couple of pounds.

There is no extra charge for my own learning materials – reading list, vocabulary lists and worksheets.

Introductory taster session

I offer a free 30 minute initial session, for familiarisation and assessment.

Or, if you prefer, you can book a full hour’s lesson at half-price.

Both offers come with no obligation to continue.
